Mission Statement
Tullamore Junior Hockey Club is committed to creating an honest, safe, friendly and supportive environment for young girls and boys, between 3rd class and 6th year, to learn and develop their individual and team hockey skills. Players are encouraged at all times to respect the game, their coaches, their team-mates, their opponents and officials, whilst developing a sense of honest competition, team camaraderie and sportsmanship. The club’s coaches are dedicated to providing a high standard of coaching that creates a positive, fun and challenging experience for each player.
Tullamore Hockey Club strives to create an environment where opportunities for excellence exist, and where participation is valued in its own right; where friendships are forged and a sense of fun and enthusiasm for the game of hockey is fostered.
2021 Season Training times
Junior training for 2021 season will start back on Tuesday 31st August and 2nd September and will be held weekly at the times below.
Please note that these training times may be subject to change having regard to coach and pitch availability.
Tuesday 5.00pm – 6.00pm 3rd, 4th & 5th class girls and boys
Tuesday 6.00pm – 7.00pm 6th class and 1st Yr girls
Tuesday 7.00m – 8.00pm 2nd Yrs, 3rd Yrs and TYs girls
Thursday 6.00pm – 7.00pm. Boys 6th class and older
New players are very welcome however they must inform the club prior to attending their first training session. They will be required to register prior to going on the pitch. Gumshield, shinguards, appropriate footwear and clothing should be worn. The Club can provide the loan of a hockey stick.
Junior Subscription Details
The players’ subscription fee is used towards pitch rental, umpires, insurance, affiliation fees and league entry fees. Junior Player Subscription for the 2020/21 season is €100 first child, 2 children same family is €160, 3 children from same family is €210.

Children’s Officer & Designated Person
Tullamore works closely with the Irish Hockey Association (IHA) in order to ensure that best practice is followed in children’s sport. In applying the guidelines of the Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Children’s Sport, Tullamore have adopted and implemented a code of conduct for all participants and must appoint a Children’s Officer and a Designated Person.
The current Children’s Officer is Clodagh Armitage. Clodagh manages all activities and issues in relation to young people at club level..
The Designated Person is Jane Smith.. Jane is responsible for reporting any concern about the protection of children to the Statutory Authorities.
